Pound Facilities

-Kenneling is provided at 6311 12th Line, R.R.#4, Alliston, located in New Tecumseth. Run under the Maplelane Farm prefix, this facility is a licensed kennel, fulfilling all requirements set out by the Town of New Tecumseth.

-BBB will seek sub-contractors for the kenneling if service required is more than 30 minutes away from Maplelane Farm. Local SPCA, veterinary clinics, and private registered kennels are contacted. Upon meeting the standards of BBB and clearance from the Municipality, a sub-contract will be drawn up and closely monitored at BBB's expense.

-Having the pounds remain local helps to build better relationship/rapport with the public sector.

-Accessibility to these facilities will be geared to suit all parties involved.

BBB maintains/provides all supplies required for control as well as a specially-designed dog trailer and horse trailer. Our fleet of vehicles consist of SUVs and pick-up trucks.

BBB would be pleased to tender for your domestic animal control services.

Our Municipal Domestic Animal Control Services

With the uniqueness of our trained goose control officers, and Sherri's past experience with K-9 Control, Domestic Animal Control Services was a natural progression for BBB. Working in a highly sensitive field such as goose control, we are always under public scrutiny. Staff has been trained to deal with the public in a respectful and courteous manner.
BBB prefers to maintain a "no kill policy" for their "pound" contracts by working closely with all breed rescues (see a list of rescues here). Every attempt is made to foster animals that just need a bit more time. Pending the location of a Domestic Animal Control contract, pound facilities will be sub-contracted out to private kennel/veterinary clinics under the supervision of BBB.

Our K-9 officers are trained in:

Emergency Pet First Aid
CKC K-9 Good Neighbour Evaluators
CPR

Our officers are also trained in breed recognition and aggression handling. All vehicles are equipped with medical first aid kits.
BBB enjoys the task of promoting responsible pet ownership to the general public. With all domestic animal control contracts, BBB provides two 1 day programs per year for the support of promoting responsible pet ownership.

Program 1: Tag Day

This day consists of a variety of activities from demonstrations, CKC's K-9 Good Neighbour testing, free nail cutting, rabies clinic, license tag sales, venders and child safety. We bring in everything from dog performance teams and police detection dogs to therapy dogs. Income from this event will be retained by the municipality or donated to a charity of the municipality's choice. Tag day is usually held in the late spring.

Program 2: Pooch Plunge

This delightful day consists of opening the municipality's outdoor pool to the dogs the day before draining. Town licenses will be available, free nail cutting and fees charged for the swim, (usually $5.00 per dog) will be retained by the municipality or donated to a charity of their choice. Pooch Plunge is held in the fall.
